Dhruti was born and brought up in Mumbai. She is a commerce graduate from H. R. College, Mumbai and a CA. A few months after qualifying as a CA, she had an opportunity to be a part of the core team to set up Westpac Banking Corporation’s first branch in India. She enjoys travelling, exploring new places, meeting new people and trying out different cuisines. She is also keenly interested in social service and intends to work towards quality education and mentoring of underprivileged children. In her leisure time, she paints as it brings out the creativity in her and it also helps her destress.
An Economics graduate from St. Stephen's, Rishi is a voracious reader, passionate photographer and an avaid movie buff. He can be found discussing random and incredibly inane trivia about Star Wars.
Garima, a budding economist, hails from the capital of the country. Often mistaken for a Punjabi, Marathi and sometimes a Tamilian, the bengali enjoys all the culture and languages the country has to offer. She ensures that she travels extensively whenever possible and write as often as she can. She thinks there is all the hope in the world. With Vikasana, she wants to meet more people, and be a part of their life.
Anisha hails from a quaint little town of Roorkee in Uttrakhand, she ended up doing her graduation from IIT Roorkee too. She has worked in multiple technology start-ups in Bangalore. She is an avid swimmer and loves all endurance sports. Her other hobbies include reading and cracking terrible jokes at the expense of everybody around. She has been involved with various education related NGO. Her strong association with technology and education motivates her to change the life of children around with both of these, which she wishes to continue doing at IIMB through Vikasana and Teach to Transform.
Having been born and brought up in Mumbai, Arjit is a true Mumbaiker. He has completed his engineering from NITK Surathkal. After this he worked at Thorogood Associates for about 2 years in Bangalore, post which he moved to Mckinsey & Company in Gurgaon. In his free time, he likes to play tennis, binge watch shows and read books. He believes in contributing to the society and help make a positive difference in people’s lives. With Vikasana he is hoping to contribute in a bigger way and is looking forward to this new and exciting journey.
Ashritha was born and brought up in Hyderabad. She has graduated from NIT Warangal in Computer Science and Engineering and went on to work for Microsoft for close to 3 years as a Software Engineer. She has been associated with Goonj, Teach for India and a few NGOs since her undergrad. She also led the traditional Outreach society at Microsoft which aims to make a difference in the lives of the lesser privileged. She loves to read and dance her way through the life.
Dhanwanshu hails from the green city Nashik famously known as the Wine capital of India. He has completed his Mechanical Engineering from Mumbai and worked with Reliance Industries for 2 years before joining IIMB. Dhanwanshu likes to always try out new things may it be an art form, music or learning a new language. He loves playing badminton, travelling, binge watching and adventure sports. He wants to create impact in the social sector of India by formalising it and create more value to attract professionals in that area. He has worked in the education field and strongly believes in the motto "If you give food to a needy, you satisfy his needs for a couple of days; but if you give him education, you fulfill his needs for lifetime!"
Born and brought up in Jammu, Drishti is an Electronics and Communication engineer from Thapar University, Patiala. After her graduation, she worked for 2 years at Axtria in the field of data analytics. She has been actively involved in teaching underprivileged children both at college and at work as a part of CSR activity. She enjoys dancing, card making and cooking. While at Vikasana, she hopes to create a bigger impact in the society and reach out to many more people.
Prateek hails from the city of Bareilly in West U.P. He has done his Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from BITS Pilani, following which he worked with Reliance Industries for 22 months. Since his school days, he has been involved in mentoring kids, something he continued during college. During his time at RIL, he has organized fundraisers to improve the infrastructure of primary schools to increase enrolments and improve attendance. At IIM B, he hopes to continue to contribute his mite through Vikasana. His philosophy in life is, “Simple living, high thinking.”
Prathyusha hails from Hyderabad. She graduated in 2015 and she has a memorable experience of working with Microsoft for 2 years. Apart from coding, her passions include teaching and making crafts. She worked with Teach For India, was involved in teaching for 2 years through eVidyaloka and also developed self-sustaining models for a couple of other NGOs. She wants to contribute to Vikasana in a substantial way and discover herself in the journey. The crazy conviction to do what she really believes in, and to be the best for the society is what that drives her.
Ramya hails from city of Trichy in Tamilnadu. She finished her under graduation in Mechanical Engineering from College of Engineering Guindy. She has a work experience of 35 months from Ford Motor Private Ltd. During school days, she was actively involved in mobilizing monetary funds for leprosy affected people. In UG, she volunteered in National Service Schemes and in Ford, she was an active CSR participant. She helped in conducting sports day event for government school students, painted anganwadis and volunteered for blood donation camps. She is determined to continue the same in IIMB through Vikasana!
Born and brought up in Muzaffarpur, the lychee kingdom of India, Raushan is a light-hearted person. With a devil may care attitude, he graduated from IIT BHU and then worked for 4 years at Reliance Industries before joining IIM Bangalore. He is an avid reader who loves travelling, exploring new places and meeting new people. He joined Vikasana with the intention of making a difference and giving back to the society.
Sangeetha is a Bangalorean who has spent 4 years learning engineering at NIT Surathkal, 3 years analysing data at HSBC before deciding to join aspiring MBAs at IIMB. She has participated in community service activities while at college, volunteered at Make a Difference NGO and worked with a social impact consulting startup. She strongly believes that community work should be raised from the levels of charity and function like any other for-profit organisation attracting dedicated and talented workforce. She spends her free time analyzing movies old and new, reading philosophy, discovering new places in the city or simply over-thinking.
Siddhi is a Chartered Accountant from Mumbai. She is a true Mumbaikar at heart and is absolutely in love with the city. She is passionate about painting and baking. While in Mumbai, she was associated with Teach for India, Ekagrata trust and various other organisations to provide education to the children who come from financially weak backgrounds. She believes that the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. She wants to continue serving the society as a part of Vikasana.
Vaibhav (aka Boibhob) hails from Lucknow, the city of nawabs. He did his Bachelors & Masters in Electronics Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, following which he worked in Mumbai with Morgan Stanley for four years. He is a firm follower and preacher of the philosophy that– “we can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.” He loves working with children and wishes to start a sustainable enterprise in the education sector in future. So far, he has tried to serve the society with the help of organisations like Goonj, CRY, Aarambh-IITKGP, ToyBank, Ullas Trust and Robin Hood Army. He is also a passionate photographer and likes to share untold stories through his pictures to spread some positivity around.
Having born in Jammu and brought up in various parts of India from Dehradun to Madurai, he is a blend of many diverse cultures and languages. The light of social service was initiated through the small fund raising activities as a child and has now illuminated far beyond that into charity works and helping the under privileged. With Vikasana, he tends to work on a larger scale impacting as many lives as possible. He believes in the saying that actions speak louder than words and that every step in that action has a bigger role to play.
A computer science graduate from Dubai, Zaid hails from the city of Surat in Gujarat - a true Gujju by heart. A strong believer in learning, he spent of lot of time in Dubai teaching coursework to fellow batchmates. At Vikasana, he handles graphic design and publicity. In a world where depression is becoming a major issue, he has learnt to find happiness in helping and making others happy, one of the reasons he's a part of Vikasana.
Arun was born and raised in a small town, Kottayam in the famous God’s own country, Kerala. Having completed his Bachelors in mechanical engineering from NIT Calicut, he went on to work for Bharat Petroleum for 2 years. He is normally found googling for new parts of the world to explore and has already crossed off most parts of the country from his travel bucket list. He is also the go-to guy if you are a reader of crime novels, with his favorite author being Agatha Christie. He is a firm believer that being human (not the bhai one) is more important than a being a human.
Shubhankar was born in Pune, Mahrashtra and he stayed in 5 different places across India before moving to Singapore to complete his undergraduate education at National University of Singapore (NUS). He then went on to work for Rolls-Royce Aerospace for 3 years before joining IIMB. He is passionate about social good causes in areas of education, welfare and sustainability. In his free time, he likes to travel, be outdoors and play sports.
A typical bubbly girl-next-door, Amrita is an Electronics graduate from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. Having lived in Chandigarh for more than 20 years of her life, it was her job at Amadeus Software Labs that brought her to Bangalore. Having worked as a Business Analyst for three years and after falling in love with the City of Gardens, she ended up at IIM Bangalore. Her favorite things-to-do are travelling and trying out different cuisines. Having been associated with SOS village since she was a little kid, she has continued to contribute to society by promoting inclusivity for the disabled as a part of One Step at a Time, and aims to further serve the society through the varied initiatives at Vikasana.
Bhagyashree comes from the city of temples, Bhubaneswar and has worked for 4 years in a steel manufacturing company before she finally found her calling here in Vikasana at IIMB. Having worked in remotest of locations with the poorest of working class people, she feels that the spirit of service lies in empathy.
Chandramauli, fondly called as Mauli, hails from the city of Gurgaon, Haryana. She has completed her engineering in Mathematics and Computing from Delhi College of Engineering and worked with Royal Bank of Scotland for 2.5 years before joining IIM Bangalore. Mauli has an ardent zeal to try out new things and doesn’t shy away from taking risks. She is an avid reader and loves travelling, binge watching and adventure sports. Mauli wants to strive hard to improve the share of women in leadership roles in India. She has worked in different causes in social sector and firmly believes in the motto - “True success is making others win.”
Dhruv is a hard-core Punjabi who believes in living life king size. After graduating from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh in 2015, he moved to Bangalore to work with Accenture and his love for Bangalore weather eventually got him into IIM-B. Dhruv is passionate about swimming and loves to swim in the wild seas. He loves cooking and travelling. Having worked with NGOs like One Step at a Time and The Challenging Ones aiming at welfare of disabled people and Can & Will Foundation organizing blood donation camps, he finally landed up at Vikasana to rise by lifting others.
